Our Process For Development

Internet Website Hosting

The more you know about the web, the better your web site will be.

Web Site Layout
The goal is to reflect your company's personality with the overall design and layout of your web site. The following steps will help you associate your company's identity to the site.

  • Create a list of at least four or five webs sites that you really like and describe why.
  • Record four or five web sites you dislike and why.
  • What are your company's colors?

    Logo
If you have a logo, you will probably want to place it on your web site. You can send us your logo in three different ways, from most preferred to least:

  • Digital format (.ai, .eps, .psd, .tiff, .jpg, .png, .gif)
  • Camera ready artwork
  • Business card, letterhead, etc.

We can recreate your logo from almost any media. If you don't currently have a logo, our graphic designers can create one for you.

    Style
What type of personality do you want your site to portray: professional, simple, dependable, trendy, welcoming, energetic? Colors, graphics, and lettering fonts will combine to create this personality package for your web site.

    Site Organization
Decide what information you want your web site to contain. This may sound pretty obvious, but many companies completely overlook this part of the design process. Without the proper content and a well developed organization structure, your web site will be unsuccessful. We can consult with you to help you develop the organization of the content and site hierarchy.

Organize the content you have into categories of information. We use an outline to like the one below to organize the information.

Many of your categories will be similar to many other sites. Common areas include: About Us, Contact Us, Homepage, Services)

    Homepage
Let's talk about the Homepage for a minute. This is usually the first page a visitor will see. You have to sell yourself on this page; it's your most valuable piece of real estate. The page should load fast, provide a concise overview of the rest of the site, and introduce your products or services.

    Pages
Each page on your web site should be no more than a legal sized sheet of paper. Nobody enjoys scrolling down multiple pages to get to the information they want to see. Also, by limiting the page size, it will load faster than a longer one.

    Graphics
Collect any and all photos, graphics, and diagrams you would like on the site. Identify it somehow (Post-It or otherwise) with the appropriate page it is to appear on. We can also create and alter images to your specifications as needed.

    Forms
Identify any forms you would like to duplicate on the Internet. There are different ways to present these. If a signature is not required on a form, we can create a form that can be automatically emailed to you once it is filled out. If your forms are in a specific format and cannot be altered or must be signed, we can setup a Microsoft Word or Adobe Acrobat Reader file to be easily downloaded by the user.

Order forms for on-line purchasing can be sent to you via email or posted to a secure area within your web site for you to access and process them.

    Database
Do you have a lot of information that changes rapidly? A database may be the solution for you. A secure administration area can be developed for your access. From here you can add, edit, delete, and archive information. By adding a database to your site, you'll have control of the information changes. On-line stores are sometimes very well suited for database integration.
